Here at Pukeko ELC we provide a home away from home for children aged from three months to school age. We ensure a safe, caring, respectful, fun, and natural environment with excellent staff ratios. Our aim is to nurture happy, confident, and curious learners and to instill a life long love of learning.
We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia and RIE approaches and strive to incorporate these into our daily practices.
We focus on the idea of the child as creative and intelligent, capable of exploring and discovering for themselves. This exploration takes place in a context of rich relationships with other people and materials.

The Education Review Office (ERO) 2018 evaluation of our service states that “Children have rich and diverse learning opportunities”, and “Core curriculum areas such as early literacy, mathematics, and science are highly visible and integrated into the programme through everyday activities”.
Our daughter has been in the Pipi room at Pukeko ELC for a year now, we as a family are so grateful that we have a sense of belonging within the centre. The teachers have a welcoming, nurturing nature and make the centre feel like a home away from home. Watching our daughter’s personal growth within the centre has been invaluable. Thank you Pukekos!
